The Marshall County Highway Department is working on chip sealing roads for the next couple of weeks.
Highway Supervisor Jason Peters said crews will be finishing 6B Road from Ironwood to King Road today and will work on Union Road from 1C to the county line.
On Wednesday, chip and seal work will be done on Pioneer Drive from the city limits to State Road 17. That road will be closed in order for this process to be complete. Overmyer Drive will also be closed from State Road 17 to the city limits. That project is expected to carry over to Thursday. Overmyer Drive will remain closed until chip and seal work is done.
On Thursday, the Marshall County Highway Department will work on Olive Trail from Overmyer Drive to 4B Road. The road will be closed in order for work to be done. Chip and seal work will also be done on Overmyer Drive to 11th Road and from 11th to 12th, 12th to 13th, 13th to 14th, and 14th to 14B Roads.
Chip seal or seal coat projects treat the pavement surface with liquid asphalt material covered by crushed stone to provide a new roadway surface and prevent future deterioration.
