Man Allegedly Punches Plymouth Police Officer Trying to Take Him into Custody

A man wanted on a felony warrant was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, but not before he allegedly punched the police officer.

Plymouth Police say they were alerted that Zachery Cowger, 22, was at a home on Clark Street. When the Officer Chad Beatty arrived, he reportedly found Cowger sitting on the front porch.

Beatty says he told Cowger to turn around and place his hands behind his back. Beatty then tried to take Cowger into custody, and that’s when Cowger allegedly punched him.

Cowger was taken to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked for Resisting Law Enforcement and Battery to Law Enforcement, in addition to the felony warrant.
