The John Glenn School Board received an update this week on a few items prior to the start of school.
Superintendent Richard Reese said online registration is open and 500 students registered online by 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Last year the number of online registrations numbered half of the student population. Reese said many choose the online option for convenience. Textbook fees can also be paid at the time of online registration.
For the households who do not choose the online registration option, on-site registration is set for today for all schools from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Teacher orientation is Monday, Aug. 14 and the first day of school for students is Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Superintendent Reese added that the number of transfer students now totals 392, but there are six or seven students who haven’t finalized paperwork so that number could peak at 400 for the upcoming year.
