The first Cars & Coffee event is coming to Plymouth on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
This is a chance for classic car owners and area residents to get together at the old Mobilgas station on Jefferson Street to talk about cars over coffee and donuts. The first 50 car owners attending the event will be eligible for door prizes.
Cars & Coffee is gaining speed nationwide as an alternative to car shows. The local organizing group expects 80 to 100 for this first event. Cars will be parked starting at Quick’s Lanes and continuing down Jefferson Street. North and South Beerendbrook Street will be closed for the event as approved by the City of Plymouth.
The boy scouts will be holding a fundraiser and a Sprint car from Plymouth Speedway will be on display.
The owner of Mobilgas recently remodeled the building and grounds to give the property the look of an old fashioned full service gas station.
Another event is scheduled during the Blueberry Festival on Sept. 2.
