Two people were airlifted after a two-car accident on U.S. 31 north of 4A Road in Marshall County at the 230 mile marker on Monday morning.
According to officials from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, the accident occurred around 9:40 a.m. when a passenger car driven by Braden Taylor, 20, of Bourbon, rear-ended a Chevy Blazer driven by 55-year-old Kevin Wynn of Monterey.
Three occupants in Wynn’s vehicle were trapped inside and were extricated from the vehicle. Two victims were airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend and the third passenger was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Taylor was transported to Community Hospital in Bremen for observation. The extent of their injuries is unknown as the crash remains under investigation with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
U.S. 31 was closed for several hours as officers completed their investigation efforts.
