Plymouth City Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver received her designation as a Certified Municipal Clerk this week.
The designation was handed down by officials with the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, Inc. The award is given to municipal clerks who complete demanding education requirements. The designee also has a record of significant contributions to their local government, community and state.
The mission of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks is to enhance the education opportunities and professional development of its diverse membership. The institute has 10,300 members throughout the United States, Canada and 15 other countries. Officials there believe that it is necessary to keep pace with growing demands and changing needs of the citizens municipalities serve.
Xaver earned her Indiana Accredited Municipal Clerk designation from the Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers in 2016.
Xaver was selected to serve as clerk-treasurer in Oct. 2014 to fill the rest of the existing term of the previous clerk-treasurer and was elected into the position in Nov. 2015.
She has been an employee of the City of Plymouth for nearly 30 years. She’s served in a variety of different roles during her time as a city employee.
