The Marshall County Community Foundation (MCCF) held a Match Madness day last week which was deemed a success.
MCCF Chief Development and Communications Officer Angela Rupchock-Schafer said the event on May 25 was an opportunity to match a contribution of any amount with an added boost.
“If you gave to an eligible endowment fund, we would provide a 10 percent match on that gift,” explained Rupchock-Schafer. “If you gave $100, you were in effect giving $110 to the endowment fund of your choice. We’re still pulling our final numbers. Sometimes with the different investment vehicles it takes a little bit of time to figure out what the final donation amount is, but I can safely say we raised over $200,000 in a 25-hour period.”
That money will help 347 endowment funds and 160 scholarships in Marshall County.
Rupchock-Schafer says any donation received by the organization helps a variety of needs in Marshall County.
“You can funds to support different non-profits, scholarships, or different philanthropic interests within Marshall County. The Community Foundation is a space for you to donate to the different non-profits, scholarships or causes that you’re passionate about in Marshall County. The money basically works for those non-profits forever.”
