Water Line Flushing in Plymouth to Start Next Week

The water main flushing program in the City of Plymouth will begin on Monday, June 5 at 6 a.m.

Utility Superintendent Donnie Davidson said the process should take about 30 days.

“The process will initially require the main trunk lines to be flushed, first from the treatment plants at 900 Ledyard Street and 3600 Commerce Drive,” said Davidson. “The lines will be flushed through the city including the water towers. Knowing this it’s very difficult to pinpoint the exact areas where it’s going to be flushed the first week. Once we get the main trunk lines flushed then we will break down more into neighborhoods where we can give a little bit better information on where that flushing is going to take place.”

More information on the details on the neighborhood flushing will be released as it becomes available.
