The Triton School Board took action Monday night to approve vendor contracts to complete several capital projects planned during the summer months.
Sidewalks will be replaced and some of the flooring will be replaced in the high school. Superintendent Donna Burroughs said some of the flooring hadn’t been replaced since the building was constructed in 1963.
Burroughs added that a technology upgrade will be done that will be paid for by a federal E-rate grant which covers 70 percent of the cost of the project.
“We’re changing out old switches and putting in new switches because we’ll be expanding the bandwidth here,” said Burroughs. “We want to be able to handle that extra bandwidth.”
The E-rate program is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company under the direction of the FCC.
