The State Road 17 repaving project on Michigan Street is ahead of schedule.
The crew from Walsh and Kelly, Inc. is working on the milling and paving project that is anticipated to be complete two weeks from Monday’s start date. Rain dates are built into the paving schedule so it should wrap up on time.
INDOT Media Relations Director Doug Moats said when the crews reach the downtown area, angle parking will be closed. Work in that area is expected to begin in the next few days and is only expected to take one day. According to Moats, once the milling is complete parking will be available and the roadway will open until it’s time to pave that road. One day will be set aside for paving in the downtown area.
Moats added that one lane will always be open to traffic when crews resurface in the downtown area.
Parking spaces will be striped by the Plymouth Street Department after the area is completely paved.
