An apartment fire on Skylane Drive in Plymouth on Saturday night has been ruled accidental.
Fire Chief Rod Miller told MAX 98.3 FM News that a fire sparked in the kitchen and spread to a small area within the unit at about 11:40 p.m. A pan full of grease ignited and the residents attempted to put out the fire with water which only fueled the flames.
There were no injuries and the structure suffered very little damage. Chief Miller said there was some smoke and heat damage. The residents were assisted by the Red Cross to find another place to stay for a little while.
