Kosciuscko County Sheriff C. Aaron Rovenstine was sentenced on one count of intimidation of a law enforcement officer as a Level 6 Felony as agreed upon in a plea agreement with the state. He admitted to intimidating Warsaw Police Officer Paul Heaton over the phone on Aug. 14, 2015 concerning an investigating of an inmate in the jail.
Rovenstine was sentenced to serve one year in the Kosciuscko County Jail, with all of the sentence to be suspended and to be served on reporting probation. He will need to perform 250 hours of community service that will be reviewed by Kosciuscko Circuit Court Judge Michael Reed. He will also participate in a Victim Offender Remediation program where he and Paul Heaton can resolve any residual issues.
Rovenstine must relinquish his duties as Kosciuscko County Sheriff and will not be allowed to possess a firearm under the terms of the plea agreement.
