A crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for a proposed amphitheater in the Culver Town Park is just two weeks into the effort.
Just a few more weeks remain to raise the $30,000 needed to receive an Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority matching grant of $30,000 toward the project.
The preliminary plans for the Lake Maxinkuckee Amphitheater call for four rows of tiered grass seating with concrete retaining walls. Additional open seating areas would be available around the stage and under trees.
A little less than half of the needed funds have been gathered thus far. The deadline is June 30.
While the project has grant support from the Marshall County Community Foundation, the remainder of the $143,000 would get a healthy boost with the matching grant.
