E&B Paving will be working on a portion of the proposed microsurfacing project beginning today.
The company will be completing the concrete portion of the project which includes the removal and replacement of curbs, sidewalks and ramps.
Oakhill Avenue will have the most work done at the railroad crossing and at the intersections of Elm Street, Rose and Nursery Street, Lincoln Street, Pearl Street and Thayer Street. The intersection of Jefferson and Beerenbrook Street will also have work done.
According to Chris Oakes, owner of Pavement Solutions, Inc., this portion of the project is only expected to take seven working days. That completion time is all dependent on the weather.
After that work is done, the mircosurfacing project will begin. The anticipated start date is June 22. Oak Drive between Jefferson and State Road 17 may be closed during this part of the project to work along the railroad. The road would only be closed for one day, but a detour will occur following that initial work.
