The items inside the home recently donated to the John Glenn Education Foundation will be sold as a fundraiser for the foundation.
Superintendent Richard Reese reminded the John Glenn School Board Tuesday night that the sale is planned for Saturday, April 8 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 123 Shamrock Street in Walkerton.
The school board this week approved action to donate the property to the John Glenn Education Foundation. The property was initially donated to the school corporation by the Hiler family with the understanding that it would be later donated to the foundation.
All of the money raised during Saturday’s tag sale will be used to raise funds for grants to be given by the Teacher Grants Committee within the education foundation. In this process, teachers can apply for funds for their out-of-the-box ideas to enhance the learning experience for students. Grants will also be awarded for enhanced training, teaching techniques or new styles of learning.
