Plymouth Schools Superintendent Search Continues

With the resignation of Superintendent Dan Tyree on the horizon, Plymouth Community School Board officials are taking applications for candidates to lead the corporation.

An online form is available for interested applicants on the corporation’s website.

The board is looking for a person who is a highly capable instructional leader with a high level of visibility, proven leadership capabilities, a sense of vision, honesty and integrity, and superior interpersonal and communication skills. A sense of humor is also listed as a qualification.

As stated in the online advertisement, the new superintendent should have unquestioned knowledge and commitment. The candidate’s direction should help the district reach a high level of student achievement, staff satisfaction and community pride.

The application deadline is April 28 with interviews beginning May 9. An action to employ a superintendent is tentatively scheduled for June 6. The employment of the new superintendent is expected to begin July 1.

Current Superintendent Dan Tyree leaves the Plymouth Community School Corporation on June 30 after 41 years in education. All but two years of his career have been served with Plymouth schools.
