Phone Scam Hits Plymouth Area

Be aware of a phone scam in the Plymouth area.

According to Plymouth officials, the scam artist is using the city’s name and asking for credit card information. The caller ID shows the number originating from a city department. The recorded message said the person was from the City of Plymouth and needed the victim’s credit card information.

City officials will never call residents through a messaging system asking for credit card or other personal information.

If you receive a similar phone call, do not give the caller any information. Ask for the person’s name and department if you are unsure if the call is authentic.
