Officials with the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office are mailing out property tax statements with the first installment due May 10.
Treasurer Angie Birchmeier reminds taxpayers that payments can be made in her office in the Marshall County Building Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office will be open on Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m. to noon for taxpayer convenience. The office will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9 and Wednesday, May 10 so payments can be made on time.
If choosing to submit a payment by mail, the postmark must show a processing date by May 10. Make sure the envelope is addressed to the right location and it has the proper postage. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your payment to be mailed a receipt.
Debit or credit card payments can be completed in the treasurer’s office, online at www.co.marshall.in.us, or by phone by calling 1-866-480-8552. Payments of this nature are subject to a convenience fee.
Property tax payments will also be accepted in a drop box located at the south end of the Marshall County Building.
Bremen-area taxpayers may take their payments to the Bremen Clerk-Treasurer’s office. TCU branches and iAB Financial Bank in Bourbon are collection points two weeks before the spring installment deadline date.
Review tax statements to be sure all deductions are recorded. Deduction questions should be directed to the auditor’s office at (574) 935-8555 while assessment questions are handled by the assessor’s office at (574) 935-8525.
