An additional appropriation worth $36,907 was discussed by the John Glenn School Board last week.
Business Manager Tom Bendy told the board that this was a loan taken out a year ago. The budget was prepared in October and all of the items were purchased by November and a final payment reimbursement was sent.
Bendy said a payment schedule was sent in January and the money wasn’t in the budget.
“I contacted the DLGF about it and what they’re able to do is to add in the revenue, the levy, for it to cover it, but they’re not able to change the appropriation amount that we published in the paper and that we approved. This action is just to enable us to have the appropriation to make the common school loan transfer payment.”
The payment is due in June.
The board unanimously approved the advertisement of the additional appropriation. A public hearing will be held with the approval set for May.
