The 13th annual prescription drug take back initiative will take place at all Indiana State Police Posts today. The only location not accepting unwanted, unused, or expired prescription drugs is at the Toll Road Post.
A partnership between the Indiana State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration is making this possible. The event expects to prevent prescription drug abuse and theft through the proper disposal of prescription drugs.
Liquid and pill medications may be deposited free of charge and with complete anonymity at all Indiana State Police Post locations from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time today. Needles, new or used, will NOT be accepted. No questions will be asked.
Officers will properly dispose of the medications without a threat to the environment.
