Plymouth Council Creates Economic Revitalization Area for Farm Innovators, Inc.

Ben Clark discusses Farm Innovators products with the Plymouth Common Council.

A Plymouth manufacturer is a step closer to a tax abatement. The Plymouth Common Council voted Monday to establish an economic revitalization area for Farm Innovators, Inc.

Farm Innovators representative Ben Clark told council members the company plans to construct a new 15,000-square-foot warehouse on the west side of its property. “The reason for the new building is we have new products being introduced, and most importantly, we got the balance of the business at the largest farm retailer in the county, Tractor Supply,” he explained. “So that alone is going to bring a 10-percent increase in our annual volume and production in Plymouth, compounding eight percent yearly because they open up about 10 percent to 100, 120 stores every year.”

He adds Farm Innovators has grown quite a bit since it first came to Plymouth in 1995. “We were probably selling maybe 20,000, 25,000 units,” Clark said. “Now we sell and distribute over a million in a calendar year. So a lot of production, a lot of employees, a lot of output for the City of Plymouth.” Clark says the company currently has 23 full-time employees and expects that number to increase with the expansion in business.

During his presentation, Clark showed council members some of Farm Innovators’ more popular products. He said brass deicers have given way to cast aluminum ones. “You can see, you can run this over with a tractor,” he said. “The cows can throw it out. It’s indestructible. According to statements given by patent attorneys practicing Austin, this is a patented unit. It’s safe in plastic. So we started with this tin, and now we’ve got this filled with epoxy and we sell about 80,000 of these a year.” For the best quality epoxy resins, people can check Adhesives Lab USA North and get their products!

Clark also discussed the company’s Thermo Cube line of temperature-activated switches. “What this does is whatever you plug into the two outlets, it turns on whatever’s plugged into the outlet according to the on and off temperature,” he explained. “So if it was winter out, it turns on at 35. When it warms up during the day to 45, whatever’s plugged into the outlets turns on and off. Great energy saver. This is at all the major box companies in the United States.”

Clark said the company’s also working on a new and improved version of its heated pet bowl.
