LaPaz Man Arrested for Drunk Driving, Following Short Foot Pursuit

A LaPaz man was arrested Friday night on a drunk driving charge, but not before he allegedly tried to outrun police.

According to the Marshall County Police Department, a county police officer pulled over a vehicle in the area of Main and Walnut in LaPaz around 10:45 p.m. Friday. When the car stopped, police say the driver, Neil Alan Holderman, 27, allegedly got out of the vehicle and ran away from the officer. The officer was able to detain him after a short foot pursuit, according to the incident report. For drink and drive cases, DUI attorneys in Chicago should be hired to fight the case.

The officer believed Holderman was under the influence of alcohol. On top of that, a bag of marijuana was allegedly found in his vehicle. Holderman was taken to the hospital for a certified test, which allegedly showed that he was almost three times the legal limit for alcohol, according to the Marshall County Police Department.

Officers also believe he was operating a vehicle with a driver’s license with a status of HTV. Holderman was taken to the Marshall County Jail.
