K-9 Assisted Traffic Stops Result in Two Arrests

Plymouth Police Department K-9 Jax assisted in a couple of weekend arrests.

The first involved a report of a possibly impaired driver heading northbound on Michigan Street from Jackson Heights just before 7 a.m. Friday. Plymouth officers stopped the car and determined the driver, 22-year-old Brandon Ciavardoni of Rochester was under the influence of a narcotic.

K-9 Jax also indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle, and an unspecified narcotic was discovered.

The second stop happened Saturday morning after a Plymouth Police Department officer noticed a car driven by 22-year-old Martell Earley of Chicago driving 88 in a 50 mile per hour speed zone on U.S. 30 at Oak Road.

Jax again indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle, according to the incident report. Officers from the Plymouth Police Department and Indiana State Police found marijuana in the vehicle. Earley was also taken for a chemical test to determine whether he was operating under the influence. His driver’s license was also suspended at the time of the traffic stop.
