Culver officials are exploring options for improving the community’s 2016 Stellar Communities application in hopes of boosting their chances of securing money from the state this year.
Stellar Communities designates individual communities for fast-tracked state investment in major projects and services. Culver was a finalist for Stellar Communities funds last year but lost out to Corydon.
Town Manager Jonathan Leist says Culver officials and the Stellar Communities Committee are also considering the addition of a project or two to their 2017 application. They’ve set up a survey to gather input from residents about which projects are most important in terms of transforming the community, attracting new residents and boosting the local economy. Leist says surveys are due by March 1st so the committee can review information and resubmit Culver’s application.
