The transition of Culver EMS to full paramedic service has been pushed back a few months. Town officials had hoped to offer the upgraded level of service by March 1st. The new tentative launch date is May 1st. The town council last week authorized Director Kathy Hart to begin advertising for additional paramedics.
Culver already has paramedics in their department, but in order to take the department to full-paramedic services, they will need at least one on every shift. Paramedics can administer medications and provide a higher level of care than EMT’s can.
The expanded service offering has been discussed for several years, but the town council finally agreed last September to move forward.
