Bi-County High Speed Chase Ends With Two Arrests

A Granger man who reportedly led police on a high-speed chase through two counties after stealing merchandise from a Plymouth store faces numerous criminal charges in Marshall County.

Dispatchers got a call around 9 p.m. Tuesday advising a white Chevrolet Avalanche was eastbound on U.S. 30 with items stolen from Walmart. A Plymouth Police Officer tried unsuccessfully to stop the vehicle at the intersection of U.S. 30 and U.S. 31. The driver turned north, and Marshall County officers joined the pursuit. The officers tried to use stop sticks at U.S. 6 but failed.

The vehicle continued into St. Joseph County and traveled east onto Ireland Road and north onto Fellow Street before driving through several yards and hitting a porch and a vehicle on Teri Street.

The driver, 27-year-old Dustin Jacob Lorman of Granger, was arrested on preliminary charges of theft, resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, operating a vehicle with a BAC of .08 or more, O.V.W.I. endangerment, reckless driving and operator never licensed.

The passenger, Joshua Lamont Flynn, faces charges of theft and resisting law enforcement.
