Plymouth School Board to Consider Replacement Candidate

Plymouth School CorporationThe Plymouth School Board plans to appoint a new member during their Tuesday night meeting.

Jennifer Sickmiller previously represented the City of Plymouth on the School Board. Her resignation became effective October 5th of this year with a replacement mandated to be found within 30 days from her departure.

The school board has been taking applications to fill the vacancy. Applicants were expected to meet a few requirements such as residing within the corporation boundaries for at least one year and writing a letter of intent.

School board members are allowed to vote on the replacement. Whoever is selected for the seat will finish the remainder of Sickmiller’s term.

The school board will also consider pay increases and contract extensions for several of its administrators. That recommendation goes along with an increase in teacher pay. The school board will consider approving a $1,300 raise for the 24 administrators. Each of those on the list will also be linked to a one, two, or three year contract.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Administration Building.
