Two Culver-Union Township Public Library Board members will keep their seats beyond the end of the year, following action by the Culver School Board this week. Library board president and longtime teacher Melanie Robertson requested to be reappointed, which the school board did Monday.
Meanwhile, the school board also agreed to extend the term of Alfred Nyby, according to Culver Schools Interim Superintendent Chuck Kitchell. “I think he’s looking for someone else to take his seat, but he was willing to stay on and give the library board a couple more months to see if there’s anyone else that is interested in possibly taking his seat,” Kitchell said. “I think he’s still interested beyond that, but was willing to have the board at least look to see if there’s anyone else in the community that might want that seat.”
Nyby was selected by the school board back in June to fill the remainder of Rhonda Reinhold’s term. Both Nyby’s and Robertson’s current terms were set to expire December 31.
