The 50th Marshall County Blueberry Festival meant quite a bit of cash for some Plymouth High School groups.
The high school parking lot serves as the official parking area for the festival, charging eight dollars for daily parking. Superintendent Dan Tyree told the school board Tuesday this year’s festival parking raised a gross income of over $75,000. That’s the most they’ve ever raised with the effort.
According to the school corporation, part of that money gets split among several organizations, including the high school swim team, band, choir, robotics team, and theater groups. It also benefits the speech teams at both Plymouth High School and Lincoln Junior High School.
