Indiana’s farm history will be celebrated with a couple of events next month. On Saturday, September 17, the Indiana Barn Foundation will be hosting its annual barn tour. It gives barn enthusiasts the chance to take a driving tour of some notable vintage barns.
As a preview for the annual tour, the Marshall County Museum is hosting a presentation by the president of the Indiana Barn Foundation. Carolyn Rahe is a Marshall County resident and helped start the foundation to provide financial assistance to farmers maintaining historic barns. During her presentation, Rahe will discuss the value of old barns and why it’s important to protect them.
It will take place on Friday, September 9 from noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Marshall County Museum Community Room, as part of the museum’s Brown Bag series.
