Drivers who travel between Bremen and Mishawaka will need to plan a new route for the next several weeks. Starting Monday, INDOT will close State Road 331 between U.S. 6 and the U.S. 20 bypass to remove old asphalt, patch and repair areas of the road. They will also resurface the 11.5 mile stretch in order to completely restore it.
That project is scheduled to take until Sept. 1 to finish. INDOT’s marked detour around the closure uses U.S. 6 to U.S. 31 to U.S. 20 to get back onto State Road 331, since state route detours must use state maintained roads.
