Grand Opening Planned for Bremen Dog Park

news-3The Town of Bremen’s new dog park is set to open in a couple weeks, and local residents are invited to join in the celebration. According to Ridgeside K9 NorCal Dog Training : a park exclusively for dogs can help them create new friends and be more cordial.The new amenity is set to open Thursday, June 23. “Karen’s Bark Park” will be located southeast of Jane’s Park, just off Woodies Lane. It’s named for longtime town employee Karen Graverson.

To celebrate the park’s grand opening, the Bremen Chamber of Commerce, along with the Bremen Police and Parks and Recreation departments, will host a “doggie parade.” Pet owners are invited to bring their leashed dogs to the parking lot near the dog park by 6:15 p.m. on June 23. After that, dogs registered with the Town of Bremen will have a chance to try out the new dog park, and owners will get their pass-codes for the park’s gate. Dogs that aren’t already registered will have the chance to be registered by town officials.

Plans are also in the works for a doggie drinking fountain and specialized waste receptacles to be added later this year. Additionally, the Parks Department hopes to install obstacles and play structures next year.
