Alumni of the Culver Community Schools Corporation are invited to a first-of-its-kind all-class reunion this weekend. It will take place tomorrow evening at 7:30 at The Lakehouse Grille in Culver, and will feature musical entertainment from the band Dazed and Confuzed.
The event is more than just an opportunity for Culver graduates to get reacquainted, though. As part of the ongoing “Dine Out for Culver Schools” campaign, 20-percent of the money spent at tomorrow’s reunion will go to Culver Schools’ marketing efforts.
The corporation’s marketing team has been working to raise money to help pay for banners, signs, and other marketing materials with the corporation’s new logos, as well as updates to the corporation’s website. The branding effort is seen as a way for Culver Schools to control its image and potentially attract more families, at a time when per-student funding from the state has dropped. Rather than using money from the corporation’s budget, the branding effort’s been funded mainly through donations and fundraisers.
Tomorrow’s reunion isn’t the only “Dine Out” event planned for this weekend. Three Culver restaurants are taking part in the fundraiser today, in celebration of Culver Community High School’s graduation. Local residents can help support the corporation’s branding efforts today by printing out the coupon below and dining at Culver Coffee Company, the Culver VFW, and Board Walk Bar & Grille.
