The United Way of Marshall County has recognized local volunteers that help the organization provide services in the community.
The annual awards event at the end of April was used to recognize companies that ran successful fundraising campaign drives, and individuals that contributed their time and resources to the United Way.
The nonprofit organization acts as a fundraising arm for local organizations that provide educational, financial, and health care services to individuals in need.
$450-thousand was raised in 2015 and was able to support 24 nonprofit organizations and programs in Marshall County.
This year’s Volunteer of the Year was Susan Wagner. She served on the campaign chair teams for the past two years. Top fundraising companies in Marshall County include U.S. Granules Corporation, Nishikawa Cooper, and the Plymouth Community School Corporation.
A kick-off for the 2016 United Way Fundraising campaign is planned for August 13th in Centennial Park in Plymouth.
