Marshall County authorities are investigating after receiving a report of a stolen firearm on Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to the 13-thousand block of Nutmeg Ridge Drive around 4:30 a.m. It was learned at the scene that a wallet and a handgun were missing from a vehicle at the residence. Investigators believe the theft occurred sometime between Monday afternoon and the early hours on Tuesday morning.
The vehicle was parked at the residence during the time the report was made, but it is unknown whether the theft occurred while the vehicle was parked. The report notes that the vehicle traveled to several locations during those hours.
