Marshall County Anticipates High Voter Turnout with Deadlines Approaching

vote-3The Marshall County Clerk’s office is reminding voters of a few upcoming deadlines prior to the May 3rd primary election.

Residents may register to vote by the close of business on April 4th, or transfer a voter registration to a new address. The Clerk’s office says absentee ballots will then be accepted starting on April 5th at 8:00 a.m and continue Monday through Friday until 4:00 p.m. The clerk’s office will also be open two Saturday’s prior to the primary election, including April 23rd and the 30th.

Requesting an absentee ballot through the State Election Division will also be accepted until April 25th.

This year will mark Marshall County’s first election as a vote center county. That means residents may cast a ballot at any of the 12 polling locations that are most convenient. Technology allows the county to provide the proper ballot based on an identification card. The Marshall County Election Board held a public hearing to determine which polling sites to keep heading into Election Day.

The clerk’s office says that based on the number of registrations they’ve satisfied, high voter turnout is expected this May.
