Plymouth High School to Host First Robotics Competition

VEX-RoboticsPlymouth High School is hosting its first VEX Robotics Tournament tomorrow. Thirty teams from high schools around the state are scheduled to compete, including a team from Culver Academies, as well as the six teams from Plymouth High School.

So far, three of Plymouth’s teams have already qualified for the State Championship tournament held in March and the U.S. Open Robotics Championship in Council Bluffs, Iowa in April.

The public is invited to come out and watch Saturday’s competition. As part of the event, the teams will compete in the game Nothing But Net. Two alliances, each made up of two teams, try to score points by putting balls into different goals, among other objectives.

Qualifying rounds begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Plymouth High School Varsity Gym. The event is expected to end by 6:00 p.m. Admission is free, and concessions will be available.
