Travel Restrictions Eased in Many Areas

Indiana Department of Homeland SecurityRoad conditions are improving significantly now that the storm system that dropped several inches of snow has moved through the area. All of the red level travel warnings have been lifted. That means travel is no longer restricted to emergencies only.

As of this morning, several counties are still under orange level watches, which mean only essential travel such as to and from work or in emergency situations is recommended. The list of orange counties includes Starke, Pulaski, White, Fulton, Kosciusko, St. Joseph and Jasper.

Marshall, LaPorte and Lake Counties are under yellow level advisories this morning. That means routine travel or other activities may be restricted due to hazardous situations, and individuals should plan accordingly. No restrictions are in place in Porter County.

Plan accordingly if you do go out and allow plenty of time to reach your destination. Click http://www.in.gov/dhs/traveladvisory/for travel status information.
