Plymouth Board of Works Extends Paramedic Search

Plymouth IndianaThe City of Plymouth is continuing its search for a new paramedic.

Fire Chief Rodney Miller told the Board of Works Monday that his department has advertised for applicants in various places, including the Indiana Department of Homeland Security’s website, but they still need more time.

“I’ve met with human resources and legal counsel on our hiring process for the paramedic, and we’re just not quite satisfied with the applications that we’re getting in,” he said. “So, with your permission, I’d like to extend that for a couple more weeks yet to the end of the year. We’ve worked this pretty good, and I think we’re just in the period of time where it’s just becoming more difficult to get applications.”

The board approved the extension unanimously.

Also during Monday’s meeting, the Plymouth Board of Works awarded a quote to replace the carpet in the cemetery chapel to Lowry’s Carpet. Their bid was the lowest at $2,035.22.
