A Plymouth man was arrested in the early hours on Sunday morning following what authorities say is multiple car accidents.
The Marshall County Dispatch Center received a call reporting a vehicle collision at the intersection of West Shore Drive and 4th Road in Lake of the Woods. Once on scene, officers located a 49-year-old William Lawson in the driver’s seat of his truck.
According to a press release from the Marshall County Police Department, Lawson was also allegedly involved in a collision earlier in Saint Joseph County. Investigators allege Lawson fled the scene of that accident after they found evidence linking the truck to the previous crime scene.
Officers believe Lawson was attempting to return to his home in Marshall County following the first collision. The police report indicates that Lawson was allegedly intoxicated, with a BAC three times the legal limit at the time of the second vehicle accident.
Lawson was taken to the Marshall County Jail on charges of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. An investigation is ongoing.
