A Knox man is facing multiple charges after Plymouth Police searched his vehicle during a traffic stop.
Police say they stopped a 1987 Porsche 924 last Friday after it was allegedly clocked driving 90 miles per hour. The speed limit in the area of U.S. 30 and Michigan Street in Plymouth is set at 50 mph.
During the stop, 55-year-old Michael Dalton of Knox was found to be driving with a suspended license. Officers also investigated the license plates, finding them to be false.
Dalton is also accused of driving without car insurance. Because of the nature of the stop, the Plymouth Police K-9 Unit was employed to conduct a walk-around of the car. A positive indication was given for the presence of narcotics.
Plymouth Police conducted a search of the vehicle where, according to a press release, methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and a syringe were allegedly located. Dalton was taken into custody and had a chemical test performed. He was subsequently charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.
That’s in addition to charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and a Syringe, Driving While Suspended, Reckless Driving, Speeding, and False Plates.
Dalton was booked at the Marshall County Jail.
