Contested Races Bring Attention to Election Day

vote-3Voters head to the polls today in Marshall County to weigh-in on several contested races.

In the Town of Argos, Lisa Mullaney (R) and Kelli Vanderweele (D) are vying for the Clerk-Treasurer’s seat. Voters in Argos will also be able to select three candidates from a list of four to serve on the Town Council, including: Craig Ellis (R), Charles Snead (R), Juli Stauffer (R), and Dustin Johnson (D).

In Culver, incumbent Karen Heim (R) is being challenged by Gil Standley (D) for the Clerk-Treasurer spot. Robert Cooper (R), Ginny Bess Munroe (R), Jean Rakich (R), Tammy Shaffer (D), and Joel Samuelson (L) have all been listed for three spots on the Culver Town Council.

Plymouth is also facing several contested races starting with the Mayor’s race. Incumbent Mark Senter (R) is being challenged by Rex Crump (D).

On Plymouth’s Common Council, the At-Large race sees Mike Delp (R), Burke Richeson (R), Bill Walters (R), Gary Cook (D) Jeff Houin (D), and Josh Walker (D) all vying for the seat. District 4 places Shawn Grobe (R) and Warren Allen (D) on the ballot.

In District 3, Wayne Smith (R) and Shiloh Fonseca (D) will be squaring-off. Don Ecker, Jr (R) is being challenged by Max Schuh (D) in District 2.

Polls open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m. local time.
