The City of Plymouth will save money on employee health insurance premiums in the coming year. Council members had budgeted for a 30-percent increase but will actually save 7-percent.
City attorney Sean Surrisi had been exploring options with a consultant in anticipation of a significant rate hike. He says the council may want to look at self-funded insurance plans in greater detail during a spring work session in case the council wants to consider that option next year. Surrisi shared the information with the council during their meeting last night. No action was required on their part.
