Marshall County Announces Enforcement Blitz Results

Several tickets and a couple of arrests were made during Marshall County’s latest enforcement blitz.

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled over campaign takes place for a period of 20 days, each year. The goal is to prevent residents from driving under the influence. Monies for the extra enforcement come from federal highway safety funding.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 10-thousand motorists die on U.S. roadways on average each year as a result of intoxicated driving. In 2012, one alcohol related driving death occurred every 51 minutes.

During their enforcement period, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department issued 30 tickets. Two arrests were made for driving while intoxicated within Marshall County.
