Gov. Pence Requests FEMA Grant Funds for 19 Counties

Governor Mike Pence has made a formal request for some counties in Indiana to receive FEMA public assistance grants.

Those federal grants are designed for government and certain non-profit organizations. 19 counties would be eligible if the grant funds are approved. Indiana was particularly hard hit following serious amounts of rainfall in June and July of this year.

Marshall and Pulaski counties are included on the list of areas that would become eligible if grant funds are approved. 75-percent of eligible expenses for damage to roads, bridges, utilities, parks, and water control facilities would be covered under the grants.

According to information released by the Governor’s office, additional counties may be requested if qualified damage is documented. The letter was sent to President Barack Obama for proper oversight.
