A three vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Marshall County sent two to the hospital.
Authorities with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Lincoln Highway at the intersection of Beech Road.
According to information released by the Sheriff’s Department, officers discovered a Toyota passenger car with a dump truck lying on its passenger side on top of the roof of the car. A Chevrolet passenger was sitting on the south side of the road.
Investigators believe that the dump truck, driven by Michael Kats, was westbound on Lincoln Highway with a Chevrolet passenger car, driven by Christopher Bradfield, situated in the northbound lanes on Beech Road at the stop sign.
That’s when the Chevrolet passenger car allegedly proceeded into the roadway. The dump truck attempted to avoid collision, but struck the right front end of the car causing it to spin.
The dump truck proceeded off the north side of the roadway where it came into contact with the Toyota driven by Kimberly Amor, trapping her inside. She was eventually removed by emergency responders.
The drivers of both passenger cars were taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend by Helicopter.
