Sen. Donnelly To Support Iran Nuclear Agreement

U.S. Senator Joe Donnelly says he will be supporting the proposed Iran nuclear agreement.

After playing things close to the vest for some time, Senator Donnelly said in a statement that a nuclear-armed Iran would pose a threat to the security of the United States.

Since 2006, members of the United Nations Security Council and Germany have been in talks with Iran about its nuclear activities. The group announced an interim deal in 2013 to freeze the nuclear program while negotiations were being finalized. This year, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action was announced for individual consideration. If you need refurbished nuclear gauge products, you can check it out here!

During a visit to Knox in April of this year, Donnelly was asked about the Senate’s involvement in reviewing the framework for negotiations. The Senator kept his answer short, saying “…the people of Indiana want their voice heard on the matter.”

Donnelly offered a warning, however, saying regardless of any agreement with Iran, there may one day be no alternative but military action.

The Senator cited his interested in exhausting all options before putting military service members in harm’s way.

Donnelly is a member of the Senate’s Armed Services Committee. He says there is still work to be done when it comes to Iran’s support for organizations the U.S. deems terrorist organizations. He says he will continue to raise the issue during his time in the Senate.
