A partnership between Lilly Endowment and the Marshall County Community Foundation could bring up to $500,000 into the county. The goal of the Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow, or GIFT, initiative is to encourage and strengthen community foundations. Lilly Endowment’s GIFT VI fund will match up to $250,000 of contributions to the Community Fund.
Community foundation officials say it is one of the most flexible and responsive of their 325 funds, as it is able to address new and emerging community needs. The fund awarded grants of $10,000 in 1995. Since then more than $3.2 million has been distributed to communities throughout Marshall County for projects to support education, history, arts and culture, public safety, the environment, youth and family and community development.
Contributions to the MCCF Community Fund may be made online at marshallcountycf.org or mailed to MCCF, PO Box 716, Plymouth, IN 46563. For more information, call 574-935-5159 or email info@marshallcountycf.org.
