The Monterey School Building is one step closer to being sold by the Culver School Board.
At their Monday night meeting, board members said there’s been interest in the property, but before the school board can sell it, it must first be officially declared no longer useful for its purpose and removed from debt. To help with that, the board voted unanimously to hire attorney Dennis Otten of Bose McKinney & Evans, LLP at a cost of $5,000.
Schools superintendent Vicki McGuire said that the time to act is now, since the procedure would become more difficult after bond refunding takes place.
