The Culver Farmers Market is hosting a special event this weekend in recognition of National Farmers Market Week. Do your part to honor the important role that farmers markets play in small town economies by showing up at the corner of Ohio and Jefferson streets on Saturday, August 8th.
Normally the market offers a plethora of things such as organic fruits and veggies, hand and custom made jewelry, arts and crafts, jams, jellies and a variety of relishes, Amish baked goods and eggs, home-made perogies, woodwork, corn hole toss sets, flowers and plants.
Aside from what they typically have, this weekend the market will feature a musical performance, they will have face painters on hand and Max’s Playhouse will have a table set up with displays and handouts about healthy eating and activity. There will be lots of free samples and healthy snacks available.
The Culver Farmers Market runs every Saturday and stays open from 9 am until 1 pm Eastern. Farmers markets link towns together by allowing citizens to play a part in community commerce. If you would like to become a vendor at the Culver Farmers Market, feel free to contact Barb Linhart at (574)-842-2648 and express your interest.
